A collection of  EIGHT large Victorian hand-tinted wood-framed magic lantern slides, each measuring approximately 12" x 3" (310mm x 76mm) and likely dating to around 1860.  This selection are extracts from various Victorian stories and fairy tales including Robinson Crusoe, Old Mother Hubbard and the Forty Thieves.  All are finished with hand-painting and all are hand-annotated in script.  

Condition:  All slides are in generally good condition, fully intact and free from chips and cracks.  One has significant paint losses and will need touching up, all the others have minor paint losses, as illustrated and consistent with age and use.
