Taxidermy Wild Boar, Fighting Pair, Superbly Mounted, possible royal provenance

£1,450.00

A large and extremely imposing taxidermy specimen of a pair of European wild boar shoulder mounts in fighting pose, both with open mouths, one with a bleeding wound to its shoulder. The brass label indicates that these came from the famous El Priscalejo hunting estate in Cordoba, southern Spain. My source at the time of my purchase told me they had been shot by the then King of Spain (Juan Carlos) many hunting trips though this is, of course, impossible to verify. Approximately 90cm wide and 55cm from wall. Heavy!

Condition: A particularly fine piece of taxidermy, superbly mounted in a naturalistic pose. It survives in fine condition, with only minor scuffs and scratches to the mounting shield.

Due to the size and weight of this item, collection is encouraged from my premises in the Penrith area, close to Junction 40 of M6. Depending upon your location I may be able to deliver. Please make contact using the contact form. This item is not available to overseas buyers.
