Taxidermy Wild Boar, Fighting Pair, Superbly Mounted, possible royal provenance
From my own private collection is this extremely large and imposing taxidermy specimen of a pair of European wild boar shoulder mounts in fighting pose, both with open mouths, one with a bleeding wound to its shoulder. The brass label indicates that these came from the famous El Priscalejo hunting estate in Cordoba, southern Spain. My source at the time of my purchase told me they had been shot by the then King of Spain's (Juan Carlos) many hunting trips though this is, of course, impossible to verify. Approximately 90cm wide and 55cm from wall.
Condition: A particularly fine piece of taxidermy, superbly mounted in a naturalistic pose. It survives in fine condition, with only minor scuffs and scratches to the mounting shield.
Due to the size and weight of this item, it is for collection only from the Penrith area, 10 miles from Junction 40 of M6. If this causes difficulties, please let me know and I will do my best to help. With regret, this item is not available to overseas buyers.
