Air Flow Meter, Stanley of London

£0.00

An antique air flow meter, or anemometer, of the type used down the mines to monitor air currents, thereby ensuring the safety of miners. William Ford Stanley, of London. Early 1900s. 5cm dial, 10cm diameter overall. Silvered dial bearing the serial number 1040 and engraved 'Stanley, Gt Turnstile, London'. Click here to see it working.

Condition: Good condition overall. Wear and tarnishing/oxidation to the outer frame. Silvered dial in good order. Glass good. Case bearing original French Polish with some wear and craquelure and shrinkage split (non structural) to lower front. Appears to be functional, as per the video - but obviously because of its age, uncalibrated and without warranty.
