21 Glass Stereoviews, Maritime Subjects Including Falmouth Regatta, 1920s
A super collection of 21 antique glass stereoviews, all on a nautical/maritime theme, all in the Jules Richard (Verascope 107mm x 45mm) format and all being unique and unpublished images. Many depict sailing yachts competing off Falmouth on the SW Coast of Britain, others show fishing vessels at on the Findhorn estruary in NE Scotland, and a small number are overseas images of sailing vessels. Many are hand-annotated, including named vessels, some dated to the immediate post World War 1 era. Through the magic of stereoscopy - whereby two near identical images taken from slightly different viewpoints trick the mind into seeing three dimensions - they give tremendous depth of field when viewed through a suitable stereoscope. They are sold complete with a Bakelite slide carrier, suitable for use in Jules Richard 'Le Taxiphote' stereoscopes.
Condition: All slides in good order, free from cracks and losses. Some with minor scratches and surface marks. Slide carrier in good condition.
