charles baker of london, surveyor’s level

 

A particularly interesting, large and highly attractive antique brass surveyor's level by Charles Baker of London, together with its original fitted mahogany case.  This particular example was awarded as a prize by the 1890 President of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Robert Collier Driver, to a London architect, Edward John Partridge.  The instrument survives in good, original and unrestored condition with original finish, excellent optics and mahogany case bearing a brass commemorative plaque and a number of labels pertaining to the original owner and service dates for 1906, 1912 and 1934.  The instrument is of relatively large proportions, measuring up to 45cm long and 23cm high.  SOLD - but please visit my online shop for similar instruments.
